Re: Cheap Practice 9mm
Well, my case-and-a-half came today. Nicely boxed. I haven't opened ther case yet, but don't expect any difficulties. But one of the ammo boxes I also bought was broken. We'll have to talk to Midway about that tomorrow.
I DO like TargetSportUSA. I have bought several K of 5.56 from them for good prices. I have also bought either .380 Sd or maybe practice - can't remember. But they generally have good prices.

Will have to test them out next range trip.
Yes, they are Turkish. Turkey is making some decent stuff lately - better than a lot of Soviet stuff out there.

Range report.
Shot 100 rnds of the Yavex from my 228. In the process, function checked 4 new mags for that puppy. Never can have too many mags. Indeed, previously function checking mags, I found one that showed jamming tendencies. I have tried it several times and had the same problem, so now I need to replace the spring, and if that doesn't fix it, it's in the junk pile.
Meanwhile Yavex. The stuff is 115 gr FMJ ammo. It loaded into the mags properly without any issues. All rounds went off properly, with no jams or hangs or failure toi fire. Accuracy seemed OK, but since I was shooting at hanging steel at about 30', all I can say is that it seemed to ding it regularly. Can't speak to groups; that will take a trip to my indoor range to check out.
Had one strange episode. My friend was shooting it (his coment was, "How many rounds does this thing hold?!") and it locked open - on the last round. No explanation why, no obvious cause, loaded properly with pulling the slide stop and it fired properly and then locked open on an empty mag. i fired about 4 more mag loads through the same mag and couldn't reproduce the occurance.

Re: Cheap Practice 9mm
About all I have noted is that it seems to shoot a bit dirty. But it functions fine. After 100 rounds I thought there was more soot on the feed ramp than there ought to be.

Dirty ammo doesn't really bug me these days--I shoot a lot of Unique, and it is not the cleanest powder. Plus, guns get real dirty when you suppress them, especially AR-15's.

Re: Cheap Practice 9mm
From a function POV, it seems to work fine. More info as I shoot more of it.
I just get irritated by dirty ammo. I hate cleaning guns and dirty ammo makes it so much more likely you need to clean. Fortunately AR's don't need a lot of cleaning - bore snakes are great and wipe out the bolt.

Another 200 rnds through several different guns. NO malfkn's. Wasn't even that dirty. Shot it in 2 Shields, a Ruger SR9, and a 226 & 228. No issues.
