I was digging in my "bullet catch," (a 5 gallon bucket full of sand) and was pulling out the cast lead bullets in the post fired state. I wanted to see how much some of them had expanded, as well as collect them to melt them down again and shoot them again. I found a few really cool looking ones. I will try to get some pics of them.

I was surprised how much the soft lead flattened out. I was more surprised that the gas check remained attached to the bullet.
