Have to comment on one of the above sites.

I bought 1,000 rounds of .223 reloaded ammo from Tactical Ammunition. Good price. However, I have been shooting this stuff, and I am finding the primers disintegrating with an uncommon regularity. I had the problem twice in my first session when I was testing out the Sig upper. Yesterday I took the YHM upper and fired about 200 rounds through it. I got primers breaking up at least 5 times. Once the empty jammed in the chamber and required a rod to dislodge it. Really irritating!

I sent them a message, but have heard nothing back. I still have a couple hundred rounds from the first box, and a whole second box of 500. I am loath to open it; I don't believe this will harm the rifle but it really is a pain to have to dump the primer part. You note the bolt doesn't go home, and you immediately know to lock it open and fish out the primer from the locking groove section, a pain in an AR.

Hopefully I will have better luck when I reload the cases.

Just bought 500 rounds of .30 Parabellum from Goose Island Ammo. It is the Fiocchi stuff. I presume it will arrive some time next week. I'll let you guys know if there is a problem.

Meanwhile I have added CF's Georgia site and Goose Island to the list.

Maybe add gunbot.net--good for finding ammo on various websites.

Might be one for your list, Dev:

Recommended by a gunnie friend.  He was raving about this deal: Federal Cartridge Co 5.56mm 62 Grain XM855 FMJ - 420 Rounds in Ammo Can on Stripper Clips

I haven't done my due diligence, but this guy usually knows of which he speaks.

I was wasting time wandering about on gunbot last week and I believe I saw this ad. It was a Memorial Day Special, but it was a good price, and the stripper clips were a freeby. I guess I may add this when I get to my upstairs computer.

I think the military will be trying to unload this stuff, so you can expect to see some good prices. If you read the latest American Rifleman, they had a big article on the NEW (Improved) M855A1. It is green ammo (no lead), only cost about $100 million to develop, and is now being issued to troops because it is apparently more lethal than the 855 stuff (yaws better in wounds, especially in close firefights).

But that only means more good stuff for us.

Gone. <snif> At least I got a can. Brownells still has X193 55gn on sale.

And in a related matter:  The Coming Crash in Ammunition Prices

From his mouth to God's ear. Even though I'm a notorious horder, I'd welcome the opportunity to rebuild my stocks. I'd also like to be able to go to a range and just BLOW a box of 22LR.

What are your plans for an ammo glut?

Waking up an old thread~~TargetSportsUSA has been treating me pretty well on ammo needs~~~can't find a single box of .22 on the shelf around here, last couple hundred $ I've spent has been online...kinda tough to eat that shipping cost (around $12) but when I means I don't have to drive around and hunt for then maybe it's not such a bad deal...seems the best bet is to sign up for notification if something is out YMMV.

I've bought several of their 1k deals on 5.56. They have been $346 including shipping, a very good price it would seem. I have bought some other stuff, but not .22, as I still have a ton of that.

But overall I would say I agree, they are a very good place.

So. Make you drool. I believe an ammo can holds 5200 rounds of .22. I believe I have something like 3 ammo cans. Might even be another one or so at my sisters' house that I haven't brought home. I think I am only something like 5k of 5.56 and (horrors!) maybe 1k of M1 ammo and about the same for 7.62.

    Oh, is EXCESS nice! Laughing

OK, CF. Added Target Sport USA to the list. Too bad they are out that $300 ammo batch.
