Been really wanting to get one of these lately, if I can find one. From all the reviews I have read, the people who own them love them--and the other people hate the idea of a bolt-action 7.62x39. For me, I would enjoy an alternative way of shooting my ammo cans full of 7.62x39. I sold my 2 SKS's and haven't been shooting my 2 AK's chambered in 7.62x39 much lately. I hear the gun is very accurate (classic CZ accuracy) and can do quite well with even the cheap russian ammo. Anyways, I figured it would be a fun plinker for 100-200 yards and maybe 300 or more. What do you think?

It has different magazines than the AKs? That might be a minor concern. The Canuckistanis love 'em to death.
Oh, hell, what was I thinking? YOU NEED TO BUY THAT RIGHT NOW!!!
Why no SKS? I'm having fun with my little Tula. Thinking about putting the Tech Sights on it to improve the very moderate accuracy.

As far as the SKS's go, I had 2-3 but then ended up cashing out on them when the getting was good. I bought them for cheap, like around $150ish back in the day, and then sold them high for around $450-500 thousands of rounds later. I figured that with my other two AK's in 7.62x39, I could manage to get rid of the SKS's. The SKS's are good guns for what they are, but the aftermarket mags really suck for them. Also, inserting mags is not a quick efficient process (unless you are loading the factory mag with strippers). Selling a few high demand guns and pmags during the frenzy made it possible for me to buy lots of stuff I wanted later.

So, I ended up taking the gunbroker route and just bought the CZ 527 in 7.62x39. Just sent them my FFL info and now just need to wait a week or so for them to ship. Anybody got ideas for an appropriate scope for this rifle?

I'm off to Wally World to buy some more Tula 7.62x39 before 'Boma bans it too.

$5.47 per 20 round box. Before 9% tax. I could probably do better buying in bulk, but I'm in Wally-World anyway for bulk groceries.

It came!!! I just picked it up during my lunchbreak. I am thinking of putting on a Vortex Diamondback 2-7x scope on it for now. Dying to shoot this thing. I foresee much fun for not much $ in the future.

Wow Corn, you and I are living the same day. I also went out at lunch to pick up a rifle that finally landed at my FFL. Not a CZ, or a 7.62 x 39, though, it's the Rossi 357 lever I mentioned before.
I love those kinds of lunch breaks.

It looks good, thanks. I took your advice about checking out the sights and other areas. All looked well. When I got it home I cycled a number of 357 mag snap caps through it with zero feeding issues. But wowee, that extractor pops them into orbit!
Don't mean to hijack your CZ thread, but let us not forget the important rule round here, and since CF is apparently asleep at the wheel I guess it falls to me to say...

Mounted a 2-7x vortex diamondback scope on the CZ rifle and took it out yesterday morning. I shot some soft point Herters steel cased ammo. I was surprised at how accurate it shot using that cheap ammo. It is a fun little rifle that looks like it would be a great brush gun. A definite keeper, it is also a fun way to use up some of my 7.62x39 ammo.
