Terrible that it happened... Terrible for Obama to blame it on the guns once again...

Several things:
- Another Gun Freeze Zone -- with a gun -- and a bad guy.
- The gun is so easy to obsess on. The natural ramifications of a deliberately engineered cultural shift are ignored.
- It took the SWAT team 3 eff'n hours to get geared up and take the bastard down. WTF? Tactics developed after Columbine have it best if the first 2 or 3 responders go in immediately. Maybe wait 10 minutes to make several simultaneous breachings. Instead 3 hours were given to the bastard to kill, let the wounded bleed out, and to make taunting phone calls to 911. That 3 hour delay probably added significantly to the body count. Again, why? Fetal policing? Ferguson effect?
- Amazingly quick response by the anti-gunners. Preprogrammed. Amazingly ignorant.
- Hillary was quick to dance in the blood and jump on the Banwagon.
- Our Feckless Leader wouldn't even name Islamic Extremism in his presser.
- The NRA and the Gun Culture are being damned in the media. Radical Islam - not so much.
- Immigration of Muslims must be continued and increased - because of Liberal Guilt? Cultural suicide?

It's certainly a terrible tragedy. At the same time, I can't help but feel that we all saw this coming from a long way off. We (the gun culture) have been talking about soft targets for a couple of years now. It only makes a lot of sense that ISIS would prefer to send in one lone guy into a gun-free-zone to wreak havoc and capture headlines for days or weeks to follow.
Similarly, I can't help but feel that this is only the beginning. They HAVE to feel that this was a tremendous success, which is only going to generate further such activities. We are going to see more of this, and this and future incidents will ALL have two things in common: (1) a Muslim shooter, and (2) gun free zone.
My other primary thought is, just one person behind the shooter with a j-frame, Shield, CM9 or LCP in their pocket, could've ended this a hell of a lot sooner. Heck, 2 so-armed shooters on opposite ends of the room could've stopped this.
Meanwhile, sure enough, here come the calls for banning the evil rifle. I sure am glad you guys talked me into an AR earlier this year.
I don't really need them, but just in case, I just placed an order for a couple of extra magazines for each Glock and a couple more PMags for the AR. A thousand 55 grain bullets just arrived and I plan on pickup up a thousand extra primers and a couple more pounds of powder very soon.
We've all seen this several times before, the gun, ammo, mag and component run is about to commence.
Meanwhile, 49 families are in mourning, crushed by this wacko and his wacko theology. I shudder to think how many more families will go through the same before this country finally wakes up and enables its citizens to protect themselves.

Well said, TJ. Bought an AR for the Princess yesterday, even though it's been in the works for a long time.
Rule of Thumb: 1-10-100-1000 minimum for every man, woman, child..
1 AR.
10 Standard capacity magazines (30 Rounds).
100 Hours of training (Lifetime).
1000 5.56/ .223 rounds of ammunition.
To future-proof your rights.

Amen to what you guys said. Powder and primers and even factory ammo are available and relatively inexpensive. Stock up a bit on the high demand stuff while it is cheap and available.

If you guys haven't heard it yet, I recommend Michael Bane's Downrange Radio podcast that released yesterday. I don't always agree with what he says, but his podcast helped me straighten out my thoughts on this event.
